This vehicle spun out of control at the exit to a corner. It travelled backwards into an ambulance coming the other way.If you were the person driving the ambulance, how would you explain the cause of this crash? Although the driver of the ambulance was legally not at fault the driver did make several errors. One of these was failing to coordinate acceleration and steering. To find out more about the correct way to coordinate controls, read Unit 1 Element 4 PC (h) Coordinates brake, steering and accelerator input.
To read more about how drivers explain the causes of crashes and the subsequent effects this has on their behaviour, read Unit 3 Element 5 PC (c) Analyses own driving. There you will find a useful lesson.
If you have an appropriate photo you think would be of interest to other ambulance people (and it is relevant to this site) please send it to us for possible inclusion on these pages. |
