		The Driver Competency Standard The Ambulance Driver Competency Standard is the primary reference for those who use the standard - paramedics, trainers, assessors, supervisors, crash investigators, mechanics and more. On this site the complete standard is described - going from the unit level down to the level of a performance criterion and accompanying notes.
		For managers The management approach ensures maximum value for every dollar spent on reaching and maintaining the standard. All aspects of driving can then fulfil your organisation's mission and purpose. The final site will include comprehensive resources and tools for managers. We encourage you to take a few minutes to check out the management model that informs our approach. It's called 'Helping organisations get results'.
		Resources for trainers, educators and drivers The current version of this site (which you are viewing now) contains links to information about resources that are currently available on the trial version of the accompanying CD-ROM published in May 2003. As we complete more resources information will be provided about them on this site. Subscribers to AmbulanceDriving access the resources on the accompanying CD-ROM. If a new resource is placed on the site and is not yet available on the next updated version of the CD-ROM then subscribers can request it and the resource will be sent to them via email. The final site will include links to a complete tool kit of learning resources spelling out in fine detail how to achieve every part of the standard. The resources are linked from and to the relevant parts of the standard. It's always easy to find what you want and to know where you are. Encyclopedic in scope, the full suite of resources will be published on a CD-ROM full of printable materials plus links to the research that underpins it all. Over 2000 pages of overhead transparencies, logbooks, handouts and lesson plans will be presented in modules that are easy to customise to match the needs of your students. 		Extra information pages, technical information plus research notes and articles The Ambulance Driving Competency Standard is available on this site down to the level of notes that support each performance criterion. On the final version of the CD-ROM most of these notes will have links to additional pages of explanatory and technical information. On the CD-ROM you can access the additional information by clicking on the relevant icon. An example of the additional information pages and technical information pages is also available on the site as a demonstration of what the final CD-ROM version will contain. As well as being based on experience and sound educational and training theory and practice, all the components of the site and CD-ROM are based on and supported by research. Next to any part of this site which is based on specific research there is an icon with a link to a page on which the research is cited, briefly explained...and set in context.
