Menu

Wherever you are in the site there will always be a menu at the top right of the browser window. From there you can go straight to the home page, the find page or an overview page for the standard, resources or research.

Resource

Hierarchical organisation

Much of the site is tightly structured. On most pages you can always go back to a higher level. That way it is easy to keep your bearings.

The name of the page you are on is always displayed in bright blue.

Additional information that doesn't necessarily fit into the 'vertical' organisation of the site is presented in popup windows. Just click the information icon or the glossary icon to open one. Then click the link at the bottom of the popup window to close the window.

Other additional pages of extra information also sit 'outside' the nested structure of most sections of the site. You can go to these pages by clicking a 'plus' icon. There is always a link back to the page you came from.

Text links

All text links are red. If you are using a recent browser (such as Internet Explorer 5+) the links will also turn black when the cursor passes over them or when you click on a link.

Preferred browser

Although the site should be easy to browse with most Internet software, it can be viewed best in recent versions of Internet Explorer.

The site can also be navigated by people using older browsers or text-only browsers but it is not optimised for people with visual impairments as we assume they will not be involved in driving ambulances.

If you have any difficulties in browsing this site or the accompanying CD-ROM please contact the webmaster.

Printing

Any page of the site can be printed but the resources found on the accompanying CD-ROM will be designed specifically for printing.

Please remember that all the site and the resources are copyright Road Transport Australia.

Now that the first trial version of the CD-ROM has been published, on-demand printing is available with delivery to anywhere in the world. (Three business days anywhere in Australia.)

Please contact us if you belong to a subscribing organisation and would like particular resources printed professionally for you.

Collecting resources

Most of the resources provided on the site and the accompanying CD-ROM will be arranged in modules that directly relate to particular parts of the standard.

Some topics will range across different parts of the standard. Resources for these topics will be easy to find and will have plenty of links to and from the different parts of the standard to which they apply.
