Recognises the presence of emotions and motivations that can cause one to take risks or not to do all that is possible to be safe.

Delays the automatic influence of emotions and motivations.

Demonstrates tolerance towards other drivers who make errors, drive slowly or do such things as 'hog' the right lane.

Calmly regains space to avoid risk if others take the space needed.

Makes only constructive comments when others are rude and uncooperative.

Assessors may find it difficult to assess this criterion in the workplace. Alternative assessment methods include self-assessment, peer assessment and questioning.
