Obstacles include such things as kerbs, gutters, footpaths and median strips, and tram and train tracks. |

Adopts a speed and position that will allow the vehicle to negotiate the obstacle safely and without causing any damage. |

Anticipates a lack of grip on grass and slippery surfaces, drains, rocks, trees, drop-offs, and hidden obstacles. |

If the driver suspects that he or she may have damaged the vehicle while negotiating an obstacle, they have the vehicle checked to ensure it remains a safe workplace. This is a requirement of Unit 1 - Element 1 - PC(c) Takes necessary action to fix faults detected in the vehicle or equipment. |
